An outdoor living wall installation at The Freemount in the famous Northern Quarter, Manchester.

We created a living wall for The Freemount that is a breath-taking display of greenery plus a living testament to their commitment to sustainability and connection with nature. Our team worked tirelessly to design and install this stunning living wall, which not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the pub but also serves as a beacon of inspiration for the local community.

The Northern Quarter is said to be one of Manchester’s most vibrant and creative neighbourhoods so having a living wall here contributes to the areas aesthetic appeal. The wall also provides environmental benefits by improving air quality and insulation.

In 2022, The Freemount hosted the ‘Pub for Plants’ event, inspiring Mancunians to embrace nature in their lives. Leading by example, they brought us in to install a magnificent Living Wall on their front.

We installed a living wall outside of the York Minster Refectory, situated beside York Minster. Commissioned with a dual purpose—to provide thermal insulation and to serve as an enchanting backdrop for diners—the living wall stands as a testament to sustainable design and natural beauty.

Over 3,000 plants weave together to form a stunning tapestry, transforming the restaurant’s terrace. Beyond its aesthetic charm, the living wall plays a vital role in fostering biodiversity, attracting pollinators and enriching the local ecosystem.
